Open the New World
Always with their heads held high, Bastarians tend to look down on the races before them. Coming from the northern lands where they are said to have migrated from (when that’s usually not the case), the Bastarians look to make a living within the newer cities of the world. They tend to be the money makers and are proving it easily wherever they settle. For them, the more wealth they generate, the better.
Physical Description: Being taller than humans, they are also more frail but graceful. Their facial features define the, with wide, almond shaped eyes and pointed ears. Their hair colours tend to be more like a human, being of browns, blacks and the occasional red and blond, so it is rare to see a Bastarian with odd coloured hair. Their clothing is more traditional with those seen on the streets, but those with money tend to flaunt their wealth through clothing.
Society: Although their is no concrete place to call home, the Bastarians do thrive where there is civilization. They tend to be the ones who have wealth within the cities of multiple races. But they tend to be spread out from each other, as if they had been driven out of what they once called a homeland.
Relations: It’s hard to keep a great relationship with any race when you tend to mock them. Although, the humans still look up to them for knowledge of travel. Halflings are friends to most, so the Bastarians look to take advantage of that. Dwarves and gnomes are leery as with Illyrians, but there tends to be more of a prejudice between the races. Orcs are considered wild and barbaric and the less said the better. Although the Illyrians are in fact their own kind, they are not safe from the barbs of Bastarian elves, but it is still a friendship between the two when need be.
Alignment and Religion: The Bastarians are more known for their chaotic nature, seeing how they can find pleasure in the smallest things and tend to look down on those not of their stature.
Adventurers: At this time, there are no well known adventures of the Bastarian elves.
Elf Racial Traits
+2 Dexterity, +2 Charisma, –2 Constitution: Bastarian Elves are nimble and fey blood runs thick in their otherwise frail body.
Medium: Elves are Medium creatures and have no bonuses or penalties due to their size.
Normal Speed: Elves have a base speed of 30 feet.
Low-Light Vision: Elves can see twice as far as humans in conditions of dim light. See Additional Rules.
Elven Immunities: Elves are immune to magic sleep effects and get a +2 racial saving throw bonus against enchantment spells and effects.
Penchant for the Flashy: Bastarian Elves are practiced magicians who favour the flashiest of spells. All elves add +1 to the saving throws against evocation spells they cast. In addition elves gain a +2 racial bonus on all saving throws versus evocation spells and effects.
Keen Senses: Elves receive a +2 racial bonus on Perception skill checks.
Weapon Familiarity: Bastarian Elves are proficient with longbows (including composite longbows), rapiers, scimitars, and shortbows (including composite shortbows), and treat any weapon with the word “elven” in its name as a martial weapon. In addition, Bastarian Elves may apply the weapon finesse feat to the scimitar.
Languages: Bastarian Elves begin play speaking Lustrean and Elven (Bastarian). Elves with high Intelligence scores can choose from the following: Draconic, Dwarven, Gnoll, Gnome, Goblin, Orc, and Sylvan.
Favoured Classes: Ranger and sorcerer.
