Open the New World
The svirfneblin are a newly discovered race living in the labyrinth sewage system of Melandar. Although their first encounter with the humans was less than peaceful it turns out the svirfneblin were simply hungry for improved living conditions. What will ultimately happen to them remains to be seen.
Svirfneblin Racial Traits
+2 Dexterity, +2 Wisdom, -2 Charisma: Svirfneblin are fast and observant but emotionally distant and untrusted.
Small: Svirfneblin are Small creatures and gain a +1 size bonus to their AC, a +1 size bonus on attack rolls, a –1 penalty to their Combat Maneuver Bonus and Combat Maneuver Defense, and a +4 size bonus on Stealth checks.
Slow Speed: Svirfneblin have a base land speed of 20 feet.
Defensive Training: Svirfneblin gain a +1 dodge bonus to AC and a +1 bonus to all Reflex saves vs traps. A svirfneblin caught flat-footed loses his dodge bonus to AC but retains the bonus to Reflex saves vs traps.
Hatred: Svirfneblin receive a +1 bonus on attack rolls against humanoid creatures of the reptilian and dwarven subtypes due to special training against these hated foes.
Uncanny Senses: Svirfneblin can see in the dark up to 60 feet. In addition they have low-light vision and can see twice as far as humans in conditions of dim light.
Magical Resilience: Svirfneblin gain a +2 racial bonus on all saves vs spells or spell-like abilities. The bonus from magical resilience stacks with the bonus from defensive training if the trap is a magical trap.
Keen Senses: Svirfneblin receive a +2 racial bonus on Perception skill checks.
Crafty: Svirfneblin receive a +2 racial bonus on a Craft skill of their choice.
Languages: Svirfneblin begin play speaking Lustrean and Svirfneblin. Svirfneblin with high Intelligence scores can choose from the following: Aklo, Draconic, Dwarven, Elven (Bastarian), Giant, Goblin, Orc, and Terran.
Favoured Classes: Ranger and cleric.
